Our Story
Ambassador Fireplaces originated as Ambassador Piping Inc. in 1995, first owned and operated by Michael Clement, current president Matthew Clement’s brother.
When Michael decided to open his piping and appliance business, there was a problem—he did not have a company name. His hope was to find a name starting with A so that it could be found quickly in phone books, and to find a name that reflected his expertise in the appliance industry. After much thought with his family, his oldest daughter proposed Ambassador Piping with the idea being “ambassadors to better service.” In April 1995, the company opened its doors as Ambassador Piping Inc.
Two years later in 1997, Matthew joined his brother in business and became a partial owner of the company, becoming the full owner by the end of that year. In 2000, the quality of work and customer service of Ambassador Piping was recognized with the Installer of the Year award by Northwest Natural Gas, being awarded again in 2001. In 2004, Ambassador Piping was awarded the Highest Total Value Rating For Hearth Product Sales by Northwest Natural Gas.
Eventually shifting the focus to fireplaces and heating products, the company name was changed to Ambassador Fireplaces in 2014. Today, the company is owned by both Matthew and his wife Debbie, operated with the help of their daughter and dedicated professionals in the industry.
